Stanza 1

घेवचें तुवें मानून मागणें आमचें सान

बरे देखीचीं भुरगीं आमी इतलो मेळचो मान

English: Please accept our small prayer. We want to be children of good character; may we earn that respect.
Konkani: देवा, आमचें हें ल्हानशें मागणें आयकून घे. आमकां बरीं भुरगीं जावपाक आशिर्वाद दी.

Stanza 2

ताळो गोड दी रे, गावपाक तुजें गीत

नासूं भांगर हिरे, जिणेक आसची रीत

English: Give us a sweet voice so we can sing your praises. We don't need gold or diamonds; we only ask for a proper way/discipline to live our lives.
Konkani: आमकां गोड ताळो दी जातन आमी तुजीं गितां गातले. आमकां गिरेस्तकाय (gold/diamonds) नाका, पूण आमचें जिवीत जगपाची एक बरी रीत आसूं.

जिबेर तुजें नांव, जोवेर कुडींत प्राण

बरे देखीचीं भुरगीं आमी इतलो मेळचो मान

English: May your name stay on our lips as long as there is life in our bodies. Let us be known as well-behaved children.
Konkani: जोमेरेन आमी जिवे आसात, तोमेरेन आमचे जिबेर तुजें नांव आसूं.

दोंगर दर्या जमीन, तुजीच निर्मणी ही

तुज्या पांयांर आमी, फुलां माणकुलीं हीं

English: The mountains, the sea, and the land—all are your creations. We are like tiny flowers laying ourselves at your feet.
Konkani: हें सगळें विश्व—दोंगर, दर्या आनी धर्तरी—तुवेंच रचलां. आमी तुज्या फुड्यांत ल्हान फुलां वरी आसात.

दी गुणांचें दान आनी विश्वाचें गिन्यान

बरे देखीचीं भुरगीं आमी इतलो मेळचो मान

English: Bless us with the gift of good virtues and the knowledge of this universe.
Konkani: आमकां बरे गूण दी आनी जगाचें गिन्यान (knowledge) दी.

Summary

हें काव्‍य म्हणल्यार भुरग्यांनी देवाक केल्लें एक सुंदर मागणें. ह्या मागणेंत भुरगीं देबा कडेन गिरेस्तकाय वा भांगर-हिरे मागनात, पूण बरे गूण आनी गिन्यान मागतात. तांकां एक बरो 'आदर्श' (good example) जावन जगपाची ओड आसा. सगळें विश्व , दोंगर आनी दर्या , देवान रचलां हें मानून, तीं आपल्याक ल्हान फुलां वरी देवाच्या पांयांर ओपतात. मरणा मेरेन देवाचें नांव जिबेर आसचें आनी आपणें 'बरीं भुरगीं' जावन जगचें, होच ह्या कवितेचो मुखेल भाव.
